About Us

The Journey to Women Rise Center

Since moving to Prince George’s County in 2012, Rebecca Christian is a—mother, educator, and realtor—but it’s her role as a parent that has been the most transformative. As a mother of an adult child living with bipolar disorder, she has faced the often overwhelming challenge of navigating a complex system in pursuit of comprehensive care. This deeply personal journey opened her eyes to the gaps in support services, particularly for women who are struggling to find stable housing and access to the resources they need to thrive.

Fueled by these experiences, in January 2024, Rebecca founded the Woman Rise Center, a nonprofit organization designed to provide much-needed housing and access to vital services for women. Her vision is to create a community where women—especially those battling mental health challenges or economic instability—are not only supported but empowered to achieve their full potential.

Driven by her passion for service and a deep commitment to advocacy, Rebecca works tirelessly to ensure that women in her community have the tools and resources they need to overcome obstacles and build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
